Why Durkslaget? Many people have asked.

When I wrote the first book about prosecutor Jana Berzelius, Marked for Life, we lived in Norrköping and often visited Durkslaget. I quickly realised that this cosy, welcoming neighbourhood restaurant was perfect for the story. It became a natural contrast to Jana, who is controlled, guarded and closed off. Durkslaget represents the life she longs for deep down, but which her dark past always prevents her from having.

Since then, the restaurant has appeared throughout the entire series. There have been fights, romances have blossomed and relationships have ended.

Durkslaget has simply become part of Jana’s world.

And now, she and Per have a table of their own.

For real.
